Summer Camps and Courses
MUS offers a variety of Summer Programs designed to help current and future Owls build skills, explore educational and creative topics, and have a great time. Whether a student is seeking activities in academics, athletics, chess, or leadership, MUS will make summer fun and engaging!
ACADEMIC COURSES
Our academic courses offer educational enrichment in a relaxed environment. Students can complete summer reading assignments early with our reading mastery courses or enhance their math, Latin, history, or English skills with intro and prep courses. How to Win with Money 101, a co-ed evening course, is a "don't miss" opportunity.
ATHLETIC CAMPS
Our sports camps build teamwork, confidence, and athleticism. Campers develop skills and enhance their overall physical fitness while working in a fun team environment with outstanding MUS coaches. Check out baseball, basketball, fencing, lacrosse, soccer, or tennis camps!
CHESS
Our campus will host the 2026 Mid-South Chess Camp from June 8-12. This premier camp is open to children of all ages and skill levels.
SPORTS AND LEADERSHIP
Sports and Leadership Camp is an exciting weeklong full- or half-day camp. Boys entering Grades 4-7 will explore a variety of sports, learn strategic thinking, and develop confidence, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with others in diverse team, high-energy settings.

Summer Assignments and Testing
NEW STUDENT PLACEMENT TESTING:
To give new, incoming students the best possible start, we conduct diagnostic testing each spring. Parents should register HERE for ONE of the available Saturdays in March or April. We look forward to seeing your son in Ingram Dining Hall (No. 11 on THIS campus map) on your chosen date!
SUMMER MATH PACKET AND READING ASSIGNMENTS:
MUS students, including incoming boys, have mandatory summer assignments to keep their minds sharp, particularly reading assignments in English and math packets in mathematics.
Summer Reading tests are given during the first week of school, and scores become part of the first-quarter English average. Students may find the optional Summer Reading Mastery course beneficial to knock out the reading assignment early, or they may read on their own and take careful notes in preparation for the August test.
A summer math lab will be offered Tuesdays, July 7, July 14, July 21, and July 28, 9 a.m. - noon, for boys to ask math-packet questions. Visit the Upper School office for the lab location. Prior to those in-person Tuesday sessions, students with questions may email Mathematics Chair Chris Fiano.
Both summer reading lists and math packets are available in our library's resources HERE after April 1.
