Upper School - Curriculum
Academics
Upper School is where boys are transformed into young men prepared to take on the challenges of college and beyond. With an engaging college-preparatory curriculum, a strong emphasis on leadership and character development, and a wealth of extracurricular opportunities, MUS ensures that every student graduates not only ready for higher education but also equipped for a life of integrity, purpose, and achievement.
A Tradition of Academic Excellence
The Upper School challenges students with a curriculum that rivals the nation’s top preparatory schools.
MUS students engage in a structured, highly challenging academic program designed to sharpen intellect and develop critical thinking skills. With Advanced Placement courses, honors tracks, and specialized electives, boys are prepared for the expectations of top colleges and universities.
MUS community members can explore our full curriculum through our OwlHub intranet, where they can review academic departments, course offerings, and graduation requirements.
Leadership is essential to the MUS mission. Through student government, honor societies, peer mentorship, and service organizations, boys learn to lead with conviction, act with integrity, and serve their communities. The Honor Code, a time-honored MUS tradition, instills accountability and trust, shaping young men into principled leaders.
Education at MUS extends beyond the classroom, offering students a well-rounded experience that fosters personal growth. Through our extensive athletics program, visual and performing arts opportunities, and extracurricular clubs, boys develop resilience, creativity, and teamwork. Whether competing on the field, performing on stage, or engaging in academic competitions, students are encouraged to push their limits and discover their passions.
